Connie is attending the Red Earth Low Residency MFA Program at Oklahoma City University. In 2009, she graduated from Eckerd College, in St. Petersburg, FL, earning a BA with High Honors in Creative Writing. She attended The University of Cincinnati, majoring in English and Journalism.
Her writing has appeared in Advance Magazine, Tierra Verde News, The Island Reporter, ProView, and On-The-Air Magazine. Her lyrical essay, "Double You, The Mathematics of Love," was featured in the 2008 Eckerd Review literary journal, and her "Music and Memories" essay garnered a national grand prize (of a Wurlitzer vintage style jukebox, valued at $9,000).
Connie has twice been invited to participate in Writers In Paradise at Eckerd College, co-directed by Dennis Lehane and Sterling Watston. She attended the Suncoast Writers Conference, hosted by The University of South Florida, and is a founding member of The Anarchist Writers Group at Eckerd College. Connie also is a member of WordSmitten, Inc., a St. Petersburg area writing group, and has participated in various online workshops hosted by Writer's Digest. She is currently being mentored in her writing by Kerry Cohen, author of Loose Girl, and other books.
Connie regularly posts blog messages on www.mypinellas.com website hosted by the Pinellas Realtor Organization (PRO) and is the former co-owner, creative director, and featured columnist for The Island Reporter, a community newspaper serving the south Gulf beaches communities of southern Pinellas County, Florida.
She served as Assistant to the Editor of Moonbeams, an employee publication of The Procter & Gamble Company and as Marketing Director for Seasongood & Mayer, an investment banking firm. As the Executive Producer for various radio programs, Connie brought national--and even, international--attention and awards to the stations she worked for. And, she was quoted for her contributions to WMKV-FM in The New York Times Arts & Leisure Section. She is a military veteran and hosts community events and websites on behalf of various nonprofit organizations throughout the Tampa Bay area.
